How is that when one experiences pain can the other also feel it in real time??
This is very similar to a very close family in which the children are brought together by an anomaly (abuse, trauma or a death) involving the parents.
How can this be explained??
It has been said to be paranormal simply because of the physic connection between the siblings. I ponder the question that if you were to nurture the siblings into defining the bond.
Could they eventually be able to communicate directly with their minds (non verbally)??
I would say yes due to a hypnosis experiment I once read about. It consisted of two individuals (not related) hypnotizing one another over and over again therefore deepening the state of hypnosis. From there they went to the non verbal plain and continued. Brain wave activity was monitored and proved that there minds were active. The experiment was eventually terminated as the two participants no longer had any privacy in their minds (they knew everything about each other) and it interfered in there personal lives. Paranormal??
I say no!! Once again it is the mind that has done everything, but humans do not fully understand the mind so.......
There have been experiments done where one group of people goes to an undisclosed location and the other group sit in a room. The one group concentrates on the other while the group that is out, concentrates on their surroundings. Very impressive results were recorded. The aim of the experiment was to show ESP. The group in the room were to describe what they saw.

I think that the reason that there seem to be less strange things happening is that, people who experience them often do not want to say anything for fear of what society might do to them. Some people who experience these things often do not report them because they think they were dreaming due to the strangeness of the event, even when they wake up with physical proof!!
What about the story of Anne Walker's ghost??
The ghost appeared in 1681 to a man called James Graeme and told him to go to the authorities. Bewildered he did nothing until she appeared twice more. Telling him that she had been murdered by a Mark Sharp, who was ordered to kill her by a relative that had made her pregnant. There after Greame went to the authorities and told them the story and included where she was buried. Sharp and the relative were arrested, tried and hanged. Anne Walker never appeared again.

If we translate directly from the german word poltergeist we get Polter and geist, "racketing ghost". They are usually associated with a specific person. Although called a poltergeist it is in fact a psychic activity from its agent who is required always to be presant. The ability that some objects seem to display (flying) is called psychokinesis or PK.
This is defined as: The ability to influence inanimate objects by the power of the mind.
Probably the most well known person claiming to posess PK is Uri Geller, but many magicians have claimed him to be mostly a trickster. I and alot of others who have heard of her, the Russian, Nina Kulagina to be a more convincing example of someone with PK. Her ability to move small objects without physical contact was witnessed by western parapsychologists, but she was never extensivly tested under strict laborotry conditions. Also her feats were never observed by professional magicians. The big question is the poltergeist's PK.
If it comes from the single person then why can people like Kulagina only move small objects??
